Let the Bible Speak for Itself: Obeying God’s Word Without Twisting the Truth

(This Bible Study Tips was written by one of our incarcerated students, sharing their faith and study of God’s Word.)

When studying the Bible our biggest mistake is that we try to make the Bible fit what we want, instead of the fact that it is the inspired word of God.

If we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and give us discernment we will see the Bible in an entire different light.

When most people see the bad things they ignore it and only look and the good, which is delusional. We have to accept that the good is God allowing us to be blessed and the bad humbles us so that we didn’t get to proud thinking that we did things on our own.

When reading the Bible quit trying to make it fit what you want it to say, our job as children of God is to obey our Father, and do as He says because it’s what’s best for us. He only look out for our greater good and if we obey we can avoid most of the issues that we cause with disobedience.

When studying if you think any scripture contradicts another your interpreting it wrong. Look at all reference scriptures and make sure that it’s followed to the “T,” apply and never die don’t apply and die it’s as simple as that.
