Devotionals – Pickett Jet

(This devotional was written by one of our incarcerated students, sharing their faith and study of God’s Word.)

There are many scriptures that brings joy to my spirit. There are many that encourage me as well. My overall favorite would be Luke 11:9, “So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock, and it will be open to you.” This is the most inspiring verse that I’ve come across. It has left an impact that has carried me through some of my troublesome times throughout my life. The key secret behind this scripture is faith. In order to receive you must have faith. It goes for having the door open for you. Without the faith this scripture cannot be fulfilled.

I’ve found myself asking my Lord and savior Jesus Christ to deliver me from bad situations as well as asking Him for things that I needed in my life. When I wasn’t receiving them, I felt that I wasn’t being heard. Until I begin learning about the power of faith. It was faith that I was lacking my quest of receiving the things that I was asking the Lord for.

Once I develop the faith the faith this scripture begins to show itself according to the desires of my heart. This what makes this scripture the most encouraging scripture to me for it truly does as it say with the power of faith all things are possible.
