COMMISSION FOR INDEPENDENT EDUCATION

The Commission for Independent Education has statutory responsibilities in matters relating to nonpublic, postsecondary, educational institutions. In keeping with the Florida Department of Education’s goal of producing a seamless educational system, some of these functions include consumer protection, program improvement, institutional policies and administration, data management, and the licensure of independent schools, colleges and universities.

GOVERNMENTAL VERSUS NON-GOVERNMENTAL ACCREDITATION

It’s worth noting that there are different types of accreditations, including governmental and non-governmental. While governmental accreditation is necessary for institutions to receive student aid money, ICCS and other schools, such as Rhema Bible College, have chosen to pursue non-governmental accreditation. This allows us to offer higher degrees without requiring students to take courses on campus, which would not be feasible for our prison program.
It’s important to note that while some regionally accredited colleges and universities may accept ICCS course transfer credits, ICCS cannot guarantee this, and the final decision on accepting transfer credits is up to the receiving institution

BOARD CHAIR STATEMENT

Our mission is to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ, guided by the biblical wisdom in Romans 10:14-15: “And how shall they hear without a preacher?” At International Christian College & Seminary, we recognize and embrace our divine calling in God’s love. Commissioned from above, we are tasked with proclaiming the Gospel globally and empowering individuals worldwide with the necessary training to spread this glorious message to the farthest corners of the earth.

The Chief seat of our board of directors is occupied by the Lord Himself, directing our steps through the power of His indwelling spirit. As a tax-exempt (501(c)(3)), bilingual Bible College, we are dedicated to the diverse needs and resources of the entire body of believers. ICCS offers a range of degrees, including Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral, as well as ordination.

Our approach to training men and women is rooted in the belief that “lives depend on it.” Those who handle the Word must first be touched by that same Word. Our self-motivated students focus on worthy endeavors such as Holy living, deepening their compassion for the broken world, and exploring the theological aspects of genuine Christian education.

We are committed to using every available means to publish and broadcast the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ, echoing the command in Matthew 28:19-20, commonly known as the “Great Commission.” To us, it is not just a mission; it is “Our Commission.” With your support, we can continue creating and distributing our curriculum to individuals who can work from the comfort of their homes, at their own pace, allowing them valuable time with family instead of traveling to and from class.

Our heartfelt thanks extend not only from me, our board, and the dedicated staff but also on behalf of those who no longer have to leave their homes and churches to receive a solid biblical education. While my gratitude may seem inadequate for the gift you’ve given them, please know that I am more appreciative than words can express for your support.

– A. Varga – President

STATE LICENSURE

Post-secondary institutions providing distance education must adhere to state regulations governing degree programs. Each of the fifty states enforces regulations for institutions operating within its borders, and these regulations vary widely, subject to periodic changes.

CONSUMER INFORMATION DISCLOSURE

ICCS obtained tax-exempt status as a 501(c) 3 organization from the Internal Revenue Service in March 2008 and is incorporated in the State of Florida as a non-profit entity. Accredited by ITAA in July 2014, the college operates without a physical campus, providing religious courses globally through internet-based platforms.
Students engage in asynchronous learning with personalized support from student advisors and faculty accessible through mail, email, telephone, and instructional technology platforms. ICCS follows a rolling admissions system, devoid of traditional semester or term structures. However, enrollment in any course expires after twelve months if incomplete.

Focusing on biblical principles from a Christian perspective, ICCS emphasizes real-life application in its curriculum. Students enroll for various reasons, such as interest in Christianity, spiritual growth, increased biblical knowledge, and preparation for teaching and ministry.

With a diverse student body spanning ages 18 to 80 and including over 20% females, ICCS serves incarcerated students across the United States.

The college offers a range of programs, including Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees, as well as ordination.
