Plans to Prosper You”: Trusting Jeremiah 29:11 Through the Pain
(This devotional was written by one of our incarcerated students, sharing their faith and study of God’s Word.)
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
My entire life I was so confused because I thought that why I will continue to serve God when I only suffer for it.
I was constantly thinking me serving God things will be so much better, but at every turn it’s so hard and seems as though it only gets harder day by day.
But, looking at this verse gives me so much hope to know that despite what I go through know that the plans that the Lord has for me are plans to prosper me and not to harm me, knowing that I have hope for a great future.
I do see that Jesus went through so much but, it is for our greater good or we could not be reconciled to God if He had not.
What we think is bad sometimes may actually be good and what we think is good may actually be bad for example when I got arrested and imprisoned I thought it was a bad thing, but it turned out to be good because of the man that I have become.
